The Weber Workshops EG-1 Electric Coffee Grinder is ideally suited to both pour over and espresso style preparations and it is the Workshop’s flat burr grinder for the specialty coffee trade. As part of a larger ecosystem of products, the EG-1 has been purpose built to work with the brand’s Bean Cellars to streamline the single dosing workflow and make the ultimate cup of coffee time and time again.

With an industrial aesthetic the EG-1 boasts an integrated system which opens up new avenues for retailing single dose portioned coffee beans, and bridges the gap between the café and home user experience. The EG-1 ships standard with Weber Workshop’s CORE magnetically mounted burr set, which has been designed to be used for everything from pour-over to espresso coffee creations.

As the Weber Workshops EG-1 Electric Coffee Grinder) is magnetically mounted, it does not have the screw holes which you’ll typically see on disc burr setups which can be a collection point for old coffee. Weber Workshops also offer the ULTRA burrs for pour-over, and the BASE burrs for a bimodal grind characteristic which is more akin to a conical burr machine.

Weber Workshops came to be from a common desire to craft products that are intelligently designed and meticulously crafted; daily instruments that make the daily process more straightforward and the quality better; tools artists use to drive the art forward. They set out to make the sort of wares that aren’t measured in fleeting annual revisions but in lasting human generations; machines that are as reliable and robust as the day they are made; family heirlooms cherished as they are handed down. This fantastic looking EG-1 Electric Coffee Grinder is an example of that in action.

Weber Workshops have built their brand on a set of core values. The creative diversity and well-storied backgrounds of the founders and board members reflect these beliefs. They consist of artists, engineers, dreamers and madmen. Through this lens they can view things outside the box, often with a critical eye on how and what they can improve, or when they might need to start over and come up with something entirely new.

Wine? Whiskey? Pick your poison. This vacuum-insulated flask is the king of flasks. Its discreet profile holds an entire bottle of wine or a fifth of his favorite spirit, and it comes with two magnetic tumblers (sharing is encouraged) that nestle perfectly on the top and bottom. Beach, camping, future concerts—he’ll be happy to have this on hand.

It includes two 6-shooter tumblers and a 750ml vacuum insulated flask. Made of double-walled 18/8 stainless steel so that it keeps hot or cold up to 24 hours

High Camp Flasks was born in 2017 out of a shared passion for craft cocktails and the great outdoors. Whether it was a surf trip to Bolinas, or a mountain bike excursion in the Santa Cruz Mountains, both co-owners Nic & Whit felt there was never a great way to transport their favorite craft spirits to bring on their adventures.

After countless brainstorms they arrived at the Firelight Flask concept as the perfect adventure companion. Once they felt confident in the design they started High Camp Flasks so that others could also cheers to adventure.

Back in the day, Bootleggers designed hip flasks to conceal spirits from the authorities during prohibition. Nic and Whit would appreciate this coat-pocket stash like everyone else, but typically flasks are too small and bottle swigging felt disrespectful to the distillers who spent 12 years aging their proprietary malts. So as their appetites for craft spirits grew, they decided: “Just because we’re outdoors, doesn’t mean we have to drink like animals.”

The quest began with building the ultimate bar glass for the backcountry. They wanted a tumbler that was big, rugged, and easy on the eyes. At 11 fluid oz., our 6-Shooter Tumbler comfortably accommodates a proper tumbler grip: Index, middle & ring finger around the sides, and the pinky underneath.

Now, they needed to design a flask. This meant absolutely no plastic, with a microscopically smooth interior to preserve taste. Stainless steel is infinitely recyclable and the electropolished interior does not impart any unwanted flavors.

Lastly, they needed to attach the tumblers to the flask with magnets so that it did not compromise the interior of the tumbler or the exterior of the flask. The solution: A convenient way to transport tumblers and your flask as a single packable unit.

BRAVO, Nic and Whit…..mission accomplished.

Humans have an innate desire to be connected with nature, which scientists call ‘biophilia’. Unfortunately, the spaces we tend to spend most of our days – workplaces – tend to be stripped of much of their connection to the natural environment.

Studies have shown that simply adding some greenery in the form of indoor plants can have major positive benefits for employees and their organisations. The same goes for remote or home workers, too. Here are seven reasons why you should invest in some plants for your own desk, or your wider workplace.

The Fresh Air Gromeo Mini comes comprised of Jade Pothos, Spider Plant, Peace Lily, Dracaena Janet Craig and Parlour Palm plants & Habitat Horticulture’s Gromeo living wall frame offers all of the benefits of indoor plants without the requirement to water them. The Gromeo Mini (approximately 18 by 20 inches) comes pre-planted in HH’s Growtex foundation, housed inside a maple-finished plywood frame and with a one-gallon water reservoir, which keeps soil damp for up to three weeks.

When the reservoir is full, the entire unit weighs 12 pounds, and the brand includes all of the necessary mounting hardware and drywall anchors with each order. Additionally, 1% of each order goes to Feeding America, and teachers and healthcare workers get 10% off their order.

The 26-pound carbon fiber wonder comes from a company most westerners have never heard of “Gogoro”. But in Asia, Gogoro is a successful concern now engaged in a quickly growing niche: making commuter scooters that also include high-speed battery swapping capability.

The keys to the Gogoro Eeyo’s amazing look, is a propulsion system completely contained within the back wheel, a cutting-edge frame design, and a clear devotion to a minimalist design aesthetic. Ultra-compact, powerful and entirely self-contained, the hub motor assembly includes a segmented 123 watt-hour battery, 250-watt motor and motor controller. The Eeyo 1S is a Class I ebike, so it only supplies power while you are pedaling and there is no throttle for free-wheel motoring. Top assist speed is 19mph and Gogoro claims 40 miles of assist on “Sport” mode and 55 on “Eco.”

The Gogoro bikes are also part of a growing trend to use a belt drive instead of a chain, which cuts weight, requires no oil, is more quiet and requires minimal if any maintenance. There is no digital display on the 1S or 1 models – those things would add weight and visual complexity. Instead, like many bikes these days, a smartphone app is used to control, lock and adjust the bike’s performance. Gogoro offers an optional rotatable gel-banded smartphone mount that connects to the top of the steering neck, which is handy when using GPS, etc. The bike’s rear wheel is unlocked via the app & once unlocked, the app lets riders select from Sport and Eco modes and also shows motor output, all in a fairly entertaining interface that’s as simple as the bike appears to be.

Charging a depleted battery takes under three hours, and the bike includes a basic charger, but definitely opt for the much more artful solution in the form of an $289 floor-standing charger that also acts as a stand for the bike. You carefully drop the rear hub contacts onto the charger and when it clicks into place, charging begins. It’s elegant and simple, and the form factor compliments the bike.
