This is a reinvented version of the classic paloma cocktail, combining cardamom, cinnamon, ginger liqueur, and smoky tequilas, topped with a splash of citrus. This spicy and refreshing mélange is perfect for taco Tuesdays with your crew, a staycation on the weekend with your sweetheart, or a special holiday treat.
Note: if you can’t find ginger liqueur, fresh grated ginger works, too! Just simply add an extra splash (or two) of tequila.
Ingredients
(makes 2 cocktails)
2 oz tequila
2 oz ginger liqueur
½ lime, juiced
½ grapefruit, juiced
4 oz soda water
salt for rim
lime wedge for salting rim
grapefruit wedge for garnish
Method
Cut a slit in the lime wedge and run this around the rim of the glass. Dip the glass in a plate of salt. Spin until lightly coated.
Combine tequila, ginger liqueur, lime juice, and grapefruit juice. Gently stir until well mixed. Fill the glass with ice cubes and top with soda water.
