Minimalism in the Heart of the German Forest – REVUGIA

Designed by German architectural illustration firm lichtecht for developer TIDEVAND Bau, the REVUGIA Spa & Wellness Resort Hotel is set to be a unique wilderness retreat; land acquisition negotiations are currently in place, and this breathtaking chain will soon be nestled either deep in the seclusion of Germany’s famed Black Forest, the Bavarian Forest, or the Upper Harz mountains. Construction is set to begin in late 2018, with facilities opening to the public near the end of 2019.

This four-star retreat will consist of eighty units, including fifty junior and senior suites. These will be distributed throughout a main building (which the developer states will be two or three stories in height) and other cottages and tree houses scattered throughout the forest.

The architectural style imagined by lichtecht is one that seeks to create a series of structures that complement, rather than disrupt, the surrounding environment. Built using natural materials like wood, natural stone, and glass, the resort will feature a minimalist profile; simple, modular shapes and highly reflective glass function as a collection of canvases of sorts, mirroring the landscape and quietly blending in with the surrounding woodland. Some of these structures will sport three glass walls, ensuring that the buildings obstruct views as little as possible as one peers through the light-dappled forest. TIDEVAND Bau also promises a sustainable energy concept, placing nature and health “holistically” and “thematically in the centre.”

TIDEVAND envisions its upcoming resort as a haven for high-income, health-conscious, sustainably-minded people, with a special focus on urbanites in search of a rural oasis and escape from the metropolitan bustle of large European centres. Those in dire need of some serious rest and relaxation will be able to do so in the comfort and luxury of REVUGIA’s state-of-the-art architecture, with access to impressive amenities (early renderings show an outdoor infinity pool with breathtaking forest views and a glass-enclosed sauna) and high quality guest services.

REVUGIA will cater to individual vacations as well as companies and corporate events, promising an ideal backdrop for strategy workshops, meetings, customer or team events, product presentations, seminars, and training sessions.
